ProductsCommStack
has developed a library of state-of-the art IP cores that are available
today for license to enable the development of ASICs or ASSPs. Typically
implemented as PLDs for test and verification, these cores constitute
complete end-to-end transceivers or provide building blocks for the
development of communications systems.
CommStack is available to support the technology transfer and
integration and, as desired, to customize the designs for specific
applications. OFDM ModemsCommStack has developed significant expertise in the implementation of OFDM modems as synthesizable Hardware Description Language (HDL) cores. CommStack’s OFDM Modem cores allow its licensees to implement such standards as 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.16a, and 802.15.3a as well as to develop custom applications. For example, CommStack has developed a low-gate-count OFDM Modem core (click here for more info) that is fully compatible with the IEEE 802.11a PHY standard, supporting BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM, and 64-QAM modulation types at data rates of 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, and 54 Mbps. This silicon-independent, fully synthesizable design can support a variety of OFDM applications as well as the 802.11a WLAN standard. The simple, flexible data interface to the OFDM Modem can be controlled for continuous or burst operation and readily allows integration with 802.11a MAC ICs, 802.11a IP cores, or other alternative MAC functionality. Similarly, the core’s RF interface supports I/Q channels at zero IF or at an IF up to 240 MHz to allow use of various best-of-breed 3rd-party RF ICs for operation in the desired band. CommStack’s
state-of-the-art OFDM Modem designs provide significant advantages:
